Starting in mid June, Salsannati is launching brand-new kids classes designed to introduce children to the foundations of Salsa, Bachata, Latin rhythm, musicality, movement, partner dancing, and cultural appreciation in a fun, supportive, age-appropriate environment.
For over a decade, Salsannati has helped shape Cincinnati’s Latin dance community through high-quality instruction, welcoming classes, and a deep love for the culture behind the movement. Now, we’re bringing that same energy to the next generation.

Register Today! Classes Start June 15th
Classes build on technique over a 6 month session that teaches fundamentals, musicality, and dance steps they can use socially! Spots will be limited for each 6 month program to ensure high quality instruction. Each 6 month rotation includes 2 classes per age group, per style (Salsa & Bachata) - all for one price. Kids can join anytime, but only as space allows. Showcase in December for families!
*Showcase is recommended but not required. Students may join for the summer or later in the program, as choreography is worked into the existing curriculum and benefits everyone.

WHAT SHOULD STUDENTS WEAR?
Students should wear comfortable clothing they can move freely in and we can see enough of their body to make corrections. Recommended:
• Leggings, athletic wear, joggers, dancewear, etc.
• Clean smooth-soled shoes, sneakers they can turn in, or dance shoes with non-marking soles
• Hair secured away from face when possible
• No jeans, flip flops, or unsafe footwear please.
DO STUDENTS NEED PRIOR DANCE EXPERIENCE?
Not at all!
Our program is designed for a range of experience levels, and students will be guided progressively throughout the semester.
HOW DOES THE SHOWCASE WORK?
The semester will culminate in a Salsannati Kids Showcase in early December (location TBD). It will be a low-pressure, fun way to show off their skills learned, and to gain the additional confidence that comes from mastering a skill and performing it in front of others!
Students will learn choreography progressively throughout the session as part of their regular curriculum and technique training. Any student not performing will still benefit from this process.
Participation in the showcase is encouraged but not required.
CAN STUDENTS JOIN LATE?
Yes — space permitting, students can join at any point. The program continues in 6 month cycles with concepts designed to build skills in two different dance styles.
However, students joining later in the semester may or may not be eligible for showcase participation depending on choreography progression and personal readiness. They will still gain all the benefits of participating and learn the choreography worked into the curriculum alongside their peers.
WHY THESE AGE GROUPINGS?
Since this is a new program, we are testing the level of interest with only 2 classes to start. Many of our teachers have specialized in children's dance and education. These age groupings were chosen to ensure we keep learning level, speed and ability, as well as maturity level, in similar classes.
There are always exceptions. E.g. some children mature early and will be allowed in before 6 or bumped up into the grouping they're best suited to. Some need more time to develop their body awareness and classroom acumen and might be better suited at a slower learning pace, acting as a leader in the class of slightly younger children. Children will be treated on a case-by-case basis according to readiness.
WILL OTHER DAYS, TIMES, or AGES BE OFFERED?
We hope so! As the demand continues to grow, we hope to be able to grow our kids programming. We hope to be able to offer more days and times by 2027. We may also be able to offer additional age groups, or more high-level training like performance teams! This has been a dream of ours for a long time and we believe a great need in the community. We are excited for the future of where this can go!
